Commonly known as diethylene glycol, is colorless transparent, sticky odorless toxic liquid, slightly sweet, small volatility, strong moisture absorption at room temperature.  It can be intersoluble with water in any proportion, and the freezing point of aqueous solution is greatly reduced. When the product contains iron and other impurities, its color become into yellow or brown.
